A letter to our customers regarding email changes

This letter was sent on February 4th 2006

Dear Valued Customer,

Holland Computers, Inc. is dedicated to the protection and security of your email.  Because the email industry is now moving to new standards of using SPF (Sender Policy Framework), Domain Keys and Sender ID technologies, we will be implementing changes in our system to ensure that your email conforms to these standards.

These new standards are already in place by the world's largest email carriers.  It is predicted that by the end of 2006, all email carriers will be using these standards and that spam, viruses and malware infections will drop dramatically.

What does that mean for you?  As a customer of Holland Computers, you can be assured we will do everything in our power to ensure that your email gets to it's destination and that you receive all of the email you are expecting.  This does not mean there will not be trouble, however, implementation of these new standards requires a lot of work, testing and troubleshooting on our part.   We ask for you patience and understanding while we undergo the process of complying with these new standards and improve you r email service.

Another change that will require a possible change on your part is that we must change our alternate SMTP port.  This will happen at 5:00pm on February 24th, 2006.  You'll know if you are affected by this if we have ever changed, or we assisted you in changing this port because you were unable to send email at some point in the past due to your ISP intercepting your outbound email.  Please visit www.hollandcomputers.com/mailinfo for instructions on changing this in your email client.  This site also has full details about the changes we are currently making.

If you have concerns or questions regarding any of this please feel free to visit our website at www.hollandcomputers.com/mailinfo .  There will be links and information that will help explain these technologies and there will be a place to submit any email problems you may be experiencing.
